Signed to his first NHL contract in 2013, Nathan MacKinnon debuted as the youngest player to ever suit up for the Colorado Avalanche. Later that season, MacKinnon also passed Wayne Gretzky for the longest scoring streak by an 18-year-old in NHL history. Leading all rookies with 24 goals and 39 assists, MacKinnon took home the Calder Memorial Trophy for rookie of the year.
