Hull's career total of 741 goals is the fifth highest in NHL history, and he is one of only five players to score 50 goals in 50 games. Brett Hull won two Stanley Cups later in his career, and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2009, joining his father, Bobby Hull. The Hulls are the first father-son duo to score 600 goals or 1,000 career points each. Hull's nickname, "the Golden Brett" is an ode to his father's nickname, "the Golden Jet."
